About The Artist
Anna-Lisa Malmsten is a Toronto-based artist and illustrator who has worked professionally as a designer for over twenty-five years. Initially specializing in textile and pattern design, she also enjoyed a career as a weaver, touring nationally before turning her attention to her real passions, painting and drawing.
In 2005 she presented her first collection of acrylics titled The Dancing Stones in Toronto, influenced by the magic and mystery in the large rocks that grace the landscape of her native Northern Sweden. Since then, her paintings have been exhibited in both Canada and Sweden, and her works have appeared in numerous craft and art shows across the GTA. Characterized by their color and whimsy, each collection has also featured complimentary written works that showcase Anna-Lisa's hidden talents as a poet and a writer.
Most recently, Anna-Lisa debuted My Summer Gardens, her first public collection of pen and ink illustrations, under her newest project, Forest Path Studios.
